Program Details

The Brampton Royals offer a comprehensive and competitive Rep Baseball Program for athletes across multiple age groups and skill levels as a proud Baseball Ontario (OBA) affiliate organization.

Off-Season Training

Training doesn’t stop when the outdoor season ends. Select age groups and classifications train year-round, with most Brampton Royals travel teams practising two to four times per week at an indoor facility during the off-season, from January through April.

The Brampton Royals are committed to player development, and off-season training is an essential part of that commitment. We strive to support each athlete’s individual growth while building stronger, more successful teams.

League Play (Regular Season)

Brampton Royals teams participate in regular-season league play as follows:

    • AAA Classification: Ages 8U to 11U and 22U teams compete in the Central Ontario Baseball Association (COBA) AAA loop, our 12U-18U AAA teams classify under the High Performance Program.
    • AA Classification: Ages 10U to 18U teams compete in the COBA AA loop.
    • Select: Ages 10U to 16U teams compete in the COBA Select loop, our 18U Select Team plays within COBA Tier 2 and the competes at OBA Select Provincials.

The COBA regular season runs from early May through mid-August, featuring approximately 20-24 games over a 16-week schedule.

Tournaments and Playoffs

Throughout the season, Brampton Royals travel teams typically participate in 4 to 8 weekend tournaments, some of which may involve travel or overnight stays. These tournaments offer players the opportunity to compete against top teams from across the province and beyond.

At the end of the season, teams will compete in COBA Playoff Tournaments (Qualifiers) in early to mid August. These playoffs determine which teams will represent COBA at the annual Ontario Baseball Provincial Championships held over Labour Day Weekend.

Interview Process

Interviews may be requested by the Coaching Selection Committee as part of the evaluation process. Assistant coaches and additional support staff will be chosen by the head coach following tryouts. Please note, the selection committee reserves the right to refuse any coach or application at its discretion.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • All Coaches, Managers, and Staff must have attained the minimum N.C.C.P. certification level required to coach at their respective age series classification including attending any Elimination Tournaments and National Championships by May 31, 2027.
  • Applicants without current certification may still apply if they indicate intent to acquire the necessary credentials by the deadline.
  • Applicants may not be under suspension from any association in North America.
  • A valid background check is required. If one is not already on file with BMBI, it must be completed prior to selection. All coaches must adhere to the organization’s annual volunteer screening policy.

Additional Notes

  • Head Coaches will be awarded one team only.
  • All selections are made in the best interest of the players and the long-term development of the program.
