What is Challenger Baseball?

Challenger Baseball is Jays Care's adaptive baseball program, delivered in partnership with Little League Canada and Baseball Canada, specifically designed to empower children, youth, and adults living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

Throughout the spring and summer, dedicated volunteer coaches lead programs in communities across Canada - creating inclusive, transformative spaces where athletes can build life skills, discover their potential, and pursue their dreams with confidence and pride.

Objectives

1. To provide an opportunity for children and youth with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the benefits of playing baseball
2. To educate the community that children with cognitive or physical disabilities can play organized baseball, just like their peers
3. To help the youth in the community "give back" to society, by getting involved in the Challenger program as "Buddies"

What is Challenger Baseball all about?

Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program in partnership with Little League Canada and Baseball Canada, designed specifically for children and youth living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. At its heart, Challenger Baseball is about belonging, creating a team where every athlete is valued, supported, and celebrated. Through the game of baseball, participants build core life skills like teamwork, communication, resilience, courage, and inclusion. The program ensures athletes of all abilities can thrive in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where they gain confidence, grow their independence, and form last friendships with their peers.

The joy on the face of each participant in Challenger Baseball makes it very clear how much fun they are having. No pressures, no playing time issues, everyone just has fun!
